Purpose: Increases self-awareness and emotional expressiveness.
Exercise 1: Emotional Shapeshifting (5 Minutes)
Goal: Improve emotional adaptability and empathy.
Instructions:
Pick three emotions (e.g., joy, fear, curiosity).
For each emotion:
Step 1: Say a simple phrase like "Good morning!" using that emotion.
Step 2: Observe how your tone, facial expression, and posture change.
Step 3: Repeat with different intensities (mild, medium, strong).
Reflection: How did each change affect your delivery and how it might be received?
Exercise 2: Active Listening Roleplay (5 Minutes)
Goal: Strengthen presence and responsiveness in conversations.
Instructions:
Imagine you're in a conversation where someone shares a concern (e.g., "I had a tough day.").
Step 1: Repeat their words in your own way, focusing on their emotional tone.
Step 2: Add a validating response ("That sounds frustrating.").
Step 3: Ask an open-ended question ("What happened?").
Bonus Challenge: Try different "characters" (e.g., a supportive friend vs. an impatient coworker).
Reflection: Notice how adjusting your listening style changes the connection.
Exercise 3: Confident Improvisation (5 Minutes)
Goal: Improve thinking on your feet and social agility.
Instructions:
Pick a random everyday scenario (e.g., introducing yourself at a meeting, asking for help in a store).
Set a 30-second timer and speak as if you're in that situation.
Bonus: Add an imaginary obstacle (e.g., noisy background, nervousness).
Reflection: What strategies helped you stay composed?
